Artistic Statement

As a visual artist, my work arises from the desire to translate human emotions into tangible and universal forms—those that transcend language and anchor themselves in the depths of sensory experience. Through various techniques that combine painting and ceramics as tools for creating sculptures, I seek to build a bridge between the intimate and the collective, the personal and the spiritual, using materiality as a vehicle to shape the dreams and desires of the soul.

The heart, a recurring symbol in my work, represents that core where the contradictions of existence converge: strength and vulnerability, joy and sorrow, what we leave behind and what we receive as new. More than a simple visual motif, it becomes an emotional map, a space where individual and universal narratives converse and find resonance. This symbol not only brings cohesion to my artistic practice but also allows me to explore personal themes such as belonging, the shadows of fear, and the affirmation of identity.

My experience as an expatriate has profoundly influenced my artistic sensitivity, prompting me to reflect on displacement and the creation of new bonds from a place of integration and fulfillment. My creations are an attempt to materialize those complex emotions that dwell in the margins of words: the dialogue between what we leave behind and what we discover, between who we are and who we become.

In my work, material becomes a language of its own, whether through the layers and textures of mixed media painting or the organic forms that emerge from clay in its various expressions, including the delicacy of porcelain. My intention is to create visual and tactile experiences that invite contemplation and self-discovery, where the viewer can recognize themselves in the rhythms, symbols, and meanings evoked by the piece. The creation is completed by the experience and interpretation of the observer, establishing a unique dialogue that transforms and redefines the creative act. Ultimately, my practice seeks to be a space of encounter—a place where personal stories dialogue with the universal and where the invisible takes shape and presence.
